This piece of work was created for the Fragments of Place art trail that was part of the Beyond the Border story telling festival at Dinefwr Park in Llandeilo in July 2021

Physicians of Myddfai

This work portrays an interpretation of the three sons of Nelferch, the Lady of the Lake, of Llyn y Fan Fach. Her sons that she had with Gwyn the young farmer, became the first Physicians of Myddfai. Hand woven from ramie, a fine fibre made from nettles, the composition of the fabric portrays the ethereal nature of the story. Hanging from the bridge, a portal between spaces, the lives of the physicians were a link between another world and ours. People and knowledge passing from one world into another. The coming together, interweaving of contrasting lives to the benefit of all.
